a little scared
The way Corey spoke made him realize there was no longer any reason to protect him from delicate conversations, and the boy was happy for him. Seeing the older one suffer from his breakup was a bit sad because he knew Corey’s story, but River helped as best he could by distracting him and taking him out of the house.
"I think I like someone." It was the first time River had said that out loud. When the older one smiled and asked him to say more, River sighed. "At this point, it’s not that I have doubts... but it’s been two months since I last saw him, so I don’t know if I’d still feel like a fool around him. The worst part is, I don’t know how HE feels." Corey smiled, understanding why River had hesitated to talk, but it was no longer a problem to think about his ex-boyfriend. "He... I see."
River nodded. "I'm a little scared." He confessed, forcing a smile and taking a deep breath. "I really want to see him." It had been a few days since he returned, and he still hadn't sent any messages. "The way and how often I think about him, this... this crazy need to see him and not knowing how to make it happen. It’s been tormenting me these last few days." The boy sighed because he knew it was naive to say 'i think'.
"I don’t know what to do." He murmured, sinking into the couch, and Corey nudged his shoulder. "Don't be a coward. If you like him, go get him before someone else does." River widened his eyes at the older one, and even the way he felt thinking about that possibility scared him.
"Yeah, I like him." He muttered. Mentally telling himself, be honest with yourself, don’t be a coward.
Go get him. ♬
