After hearing several reports from Luna about the problems at the dance school, River knew he was lucky to work in a quiet place where everyone got along. The owner was a committed single woman, stylish and very friendly, but she didn't spend much time in the café.

He soon became very close to two shift colleagues who were always with him, Alice and Jayden. Alice used to be in charge in the absence of their boss, she was a sweetheart and had the leadership gene, always keeping everything on track. Jayden was two years older than River, went to college at night and was very good at skateboarding.

Jayden had trained River when he first started at the café, guiding him on how to serve customers, how to be quick with service, teaching him coffee recipes... and they took practically the same route to leave, so for six of the eight blocks that River walked every day, he always had company on his way home.

Then, one day, River suddenly pulled Jayden into a store, a little frightened. He tried to disguise it by getting his friend to try on the hats in the store, he got his head around it as much as he could, but he had to explain his unusual behavior. A little awkwardly, he finally spoke.

"Do you remember how i met my boyfriend? You asked a few weeks ago... Hmm, i met one of those boys the other day. I don't know if he remembered me, but he noticed me crossing the street after seeing him. It was super weird, he started walking towards me, so i got in a taxi and left." He scratched the back of his head, trying to look as if it wasn't so worrying, despite the scene of him dragging Jayden into the store like a hat nut. "Well, he was coming with another boy in the opposite direction now, and he just passed in front of here."

And from that day on, River would go to work in the morning in a taxi, and on the way back Jayden would accompany him the eight blocks to drop him off at his front door.
