I woke up with a hangover, my girl in my arms, and a dog snoring at the end of the bed. Snoop’s living his best life. Little Will, the cat, meanwhile, is staring at me like I owe him money. Standard morning in this house.
Yesterday was our one-year anniversary. A whole year of Cherry. A whole year of the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We celebrated the only way we know how. Drinks, laughter, me getting soppy, her pretending not to cry, and somehow being tangled up in bed at 4AM talking about life. Wouldn’t change a second of it.
And now it’s Valentine’s Day. I can’t lie, I never cared much about this day before, but when you love someone like this, every excuse to celebrate feels worth it. One year ago, I didn’t know what love really was. Now, I can’t imagine life without it. Without her.
So, here’s to my Cherry Queen. To music, madness, and forever. And to the fact that I’m about to make breakfast, and there’s a 90% chance I’ll set something on fire.
