After leaving LA with a heavy heart, I went to Rio for the Big Bang Festival with my heart open to anything that might come. The plan was simple: enjoy the festival, dance until my legs hurt, and return with some good memories to share.
But Rio decided to do more.
I bumped into friends from London, met new people who felt like they were already part of my life, as if the Rio sun had accelerated intimacy.
There were beach parties, with sand stuck to my skin, salt water in my hair, and that feeling that life was happening exactly where it should. There was the adventure of finding the hidden beach at night. With low battery on my phone and a strong desire to experience something different. We laughed, got a little lost, but found a piece of paradise all our own for a few hours. The moon was the only flashlight, and it felt like a scene from a movie. Or a dream.
These were days that didn't ask for permission. They simply arrived, overflowed, and left me with memories before they were even over. I will return to London with sunburns, new people in my heart, and a burning desire to be thankful for everything that was light, unexpected, and absolutely unforgettable.
Rio, I already love you. And I already miss you.
