Movement V "... and tomorrow..."

And travelling together, we arrived to America. For the first time, together. It was New Year's Eve and we were in Nashville. He noticed that I was less talkative than usual. He noticed that something was wrong. My best friend was... dying. I needed him to hug me and to tell me that everything would be ok. That he would never ever leave me. He did.

He tried to make me smile playing a little game. That game ended, somehow, in me asking him to adopt Elanor. Because life is short and I felt better knowing that Elanor had another parent. She already called him dad and called Deniz's children as siblings. Nothing really changed. But it was official. As soon as he signed the files at the Court House, I felt relieved.

When we talked out, he turned to look at me and told me that he wanted me to adopt Duru, Chris and Dare. Our children. We spent the whole night crying from happiness and hugging each other. We were a family.

... yes, we had meet more or less two weeks before that moment. But we knew that it was right. We started the new year as a family. We have been a family since then. There has been no more I but we, not me but us.

That night, I smiled, even if I was sad because of my friend. She didn't die, in the end.
