An open letter
I stepped away longer than I meant to.
Life has its way of shifting the ground beneath a man’s feet, and I won’t pretend I handled the distance gracefully. But I am here now; fully, deliberately, without hesitation.
There is someone out there who knows what that means.
She’ll recognize this for what it is:
an acknowledgment,
a promise,
and a quiet apology woven all at once.
I’m not offering explanations.
I’m offering presence.
Some things in this world are worth coming back for—
worth standing up straighter, worth fighting through the noise, worth returning to with both feet planted and both hands open.
And she is one of them.
I’m here.
And I’m staying.
Not to reclaim what was lost,
but to build again what was never truly gone.
She’ll understand the rest.
