he put the ring on—now i’m stuck

I can't believe this happened.

Up until the party, I had no idea what we were to each other. Well, I kind of knew I was just his lover, but I didn’t take it too seriously. I had gotten used to the fact that I never met men who wanted anything more. I didn’t expect anything more from Liūtas either—just adventures and kisses. No promises of eternal love, and certainly no words about us loving each other. We were just spending time together. I imagined it would stay that way.

I never denied that I love the attention of men. I enjoyed feeling the power I had over them just by being a woman. How they would follow the graceful movements of my hands, or how they’d watch my hips sway as I walked. I still enjoy getting that attention, and I don’t know if that will ever change.

After another conversation with a charming man, I unconsciously touched my collarbone when the conversation was interrupted by him. Liūtas was already ready for his performance. I didn’t expect it. I had never even thought he might propose to me, especially not at his mom’s birthday!

Could I have said no? Of course, but I chose to make him wait and answered yes. Will we get married? I don’t know. I still can’t quite say what we are to each other. Especially after he dared to call me dūra! Right after proposing, just minutes later, he managed to do that! Would you forgive him?

Either way, if there’s a wedding, I have no doubt that the star of the show will be Liūtas, not me. After all, I can’t overshadow such a bright personality, can I?
