Aidan thought back to that day when Crissy had told him that she was pregnant. She hadn't been sure how he was going to react, given his previous comments about how he didn't see himself having more kids after Noah — his unwillingness to procreate was tied to reasons that only he could fathom, maybe from being overprotective because his brothers seemed to have kids with new women that entered their lives, and he saw how that affected them.
Yet, none of that mattered the moment that she had uttered those words. He was happy, he was terrified all in one — the thought of starting over again was daunting, but he knew that they had each other, and they'd already overcome so much. And there was a little nugget in the back of his mind that told him that after every tragedy, perhaps there was a rainbow, a miracle — goodness to overcome the bad that she'd gone through.
