Higher than a jet plane, pass it around; my drinks on empty, need another round

The vibe at the studio eventually climbed upwards, the tensions between Jo and Virgil descended back to normal once Vi realized he had no bad intentions. Maybe he changed in the last two years. Jo looked a little jaded but seemed relaxed. Vi didn't know much about Jo's business, apart from the dope. He couldn't do shit about it but hoped he wouldn't end up behind bars or in the morgue, as there was no talking sense into him.
He used to admire his cousin and lowkey still did. He couldn't forget the time he earned them a spot at the skate park on Venice by beating two skaters with his board, all because they wouldn't let him skate there. Jo was from New Orleans, something he kept reminding everyone by not taking shit from LA rats and calling most people in LA fags. He taught Vi a lot, they used to be close like brothers and had their own punk band growing up, but things eventually went to shit, Jo got kicked into the streets and disappeared from Vi's life. Ten years flew by, but Vi still felt shitty about it.

Eventually people split, leaving Virgil alone with Ivy and a couple grams of coke. He wasn't much into that and only got it for her, or maybe just to flex. He hated how it constantly got stuck behind his nose, turning into a bitter sludge that dripped down his throat. But she seemed happy, and so was he. Vi had no idea what he was getting himself into. Bringing her into the studio off work hours was one of the many lines he would cross for her as she took him down into her downward spiral; the coke was just the cherry on top. He'll be wondering whether it was worth it later... all he wanted to do was just to be young and stupid, better burn out to hell.
