Time to ponder

There's an old saying that goes something like ... well I can't actually remember what it said, but it was old, and it was profound and it touched me deeply in places I never knew existed.

I recently completed one of those Podcast whatchyamacallits, and it really set me thinking about where I've come from, my journey to where I am today. I try not to live life with regrets and I'm fairly successful in doing that. But not fully.

The Podcast by and large was quite a positive and fun thing to do, but it opened a door I hadn't realised existed. Not like how Ollie kicked in the Emotion and Love door, threw away the key and then made a bonfire of the remnants. This was different. That door I knew existed, but only Ollie could open it, no, this door I didn't even know existed, Regrets.

Just the one, and its to do with parenthood, and a son that I couldn't even tell you what he looked like, how his cries as a child could indicate a thousand different things, but as a parent, you'd be able to differentiate each cry - that's hunger, that's tiredness, and that's an awfully full diaper!

I guess because that whole Emotion door is open, the corridor would have eventually led me here. And I guess I can live without being called 'Dad', that's not a problem, I do though hope that I can be a father to Starla, Stormie and Lockie, I see them as mine, or rather, ours anyway, and one day, if we're blessed, then who knows, maybe I can be a father to as many others as the 'Verse chooses to send to myself and Ollie. And if nothing else, we'll enjoy practising how to make them!
