Catharsis
As he idly combed his hair back in front of the mirror, he caught his reflection staring back at him, and he smirked. It was a good sign, as it heralded the end of the storm. He had faced the abyss once again and emerged not only victorious, but triumphant. Because as deep as his lows plummeted, his highs soared to the heavens. Never a creature of measure, what he felt he felt fiercely. And right that instant he felt oh so fucking good.
He knew the way he dealt with his demons by running away was selfish, he was aware of that much, even though he'd have argued that he did it as much for himself as he did it for those who he cared about, because when he went off it was anything but pretty. But now it was over, and it was time to get back to those who had waited for his sorry ass to deal with his self-loathing. It was time to celebrate.
