Chaos. Her mind was just chaos.
What had happened? How long had it been since she had last seen the light?
Too long. Days, maybe weeks. Time had blurred into one long, suffocating moment, trapped in that place. In that fucking nightmare.
How? How had it happened? She could barely remember the last time she was truly awake. The last time her thoughts were her own—not drowning in exhaustion, not struggling to make sense of whatever they had pumped into her system.
Survival had been her only instinct. And now, finally, she was out. She had slipped through the cracks of that hell, leaving behind only the phantom grip of its walls and the weight of the unknown.
The light that hit her eyes was enough to make her flinch, squeezing them shut against the sudden burn.
Too much, too soon. Her body felt disconnected, slow, as if the air outside was heavier than what she had breathed inside. The pain, though. That was real. That was
hers. Probably the only thing she was capable of feeling right now. A sharp, merciless pounding in her skull, as if someone had taken a drill and pressed it straight through her temples. Every nerve screamed. Every muscle ached from the bruises she hadn't even had time to count.
But she didn't stop. Couldn't.
She staggered forward, gripping the rough, cold surface of an alley wall for balance. Her hands trembled, but all she wanted to do was reach out to him. Her phone.
Shit. Where the hell was her phone?
Whatever. She was out. Alive. But now she had to figure out what the fuck came next.
