[fzzzt.][Recording started — 02:43 a.m.]Silence. Then her voice. Low. Controlled. Almost bored.
"I think I forgot who the fuck I am. No, not forgot. Erased. Like someone wiped the drive and left the shell running the same old program." She exhaled slowly, maybe it was a wince, maybe not.
"Wake up. Move. Follow orders. Clean up and disappear. Repeat. You do it enough times that at some point you just stop asking why." Her voice stayed steady, but a beat lingered between sentences, longer than necessary.
"There used to be a reason behind it. Not a good one but, just... something. A hit list, a cause. A goddamn laugh. But now... now I just kill people who don't matter. Work for names I'll never see and switch identities like changing passwords." There was a faint clink, metal on metal. Could have been a weapon or just nerves.
"I've been betrayed. Could've died. And you know the part that fucked me up? I didn't care. Not really." A long pause followed, then she snorted softly, dryly.
"I used to be something. A hacker. A ghost in someone's machine. Now I'm just... nothing. So yeah, that's the log. I don't know who I am anymore."
