[𝚆𝙼𝚄] 𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚝𝚘 "𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚍𝚊𝚢"

I used to think life happened all at once. That you fell in love fast, healed fast, built dreams fast. Then the world reminded me that it can take everything in one breath and leave you holding pieces you don't know how to glue back together. I tried to rush myself out of grief, out of loneliness, out of never-ending sadness, out of the hollow places loss carved in me. I thought if I just pushed hard enough, forced myself into the next chapter, I could outrun the past. But it never worked. You can't just sprint your way out of a graveyard. You can't microwave a new life.

So I started telling myself "one day." One day I will wake up and breathing won't feel like a chore. One day I will stop pretending I'm fine just because I'm good at smiling. One day I will let someone hold my heart without worrying they'll drop it. And the thing about "one day" is that it doesn't ask for anything. It's just a promise you make to yourself when you're not ready to hope out loud.

And somehow, little by little, one day actually came. In small ways at first, barely noticeable. A laugh that didn't hurt. A morning that didn't feel empty. A man who stayed even when I tried to push him away. A daughter who arrived out of the messiest night of my life and still became the best part of it. A family I didn't think I'd ever get to have.

So here's my advice, if anyone wants it. Let yourself take time. Let your healing be slow. And if today feels impossible, it doesn't mean tomorrow will too. Some dreams take longer. Some hearts take longer. One day is still a day.

So hold on to it. One day, the world will meet you halfway.
