her people were getting tired of her constant trips back and forth between tokyo and london.

gone were the days when she could traipse around without a care. she'd been able to escape her security ever since she was a teenager. not anymore. they were everywhere and they were always watching. she hated that feeling. she hated the constant surveillance.

"you need to come back to london," the voice on the other end of her phone call was gruff, impatient, and obviously a little annoyed with her antics. "you can't just go to tokyo whenever you feel like it. do you know how expensive it's been getting trying to locate you?"

"the whole idea is that you wouldn't locate me," acantha sighed, staring up at the ceiling.

she was staying in her family's tokyo vacation home. just as in london, she had closed herself off to spending time with other people and was instead holing herself up in her family's expensive homes so that she could do research and figure out who had plotted to kill her family.

it could've been anyone. there were plenty of people both within her father's branch of the yakuza and in outside organizations. the irish, for one. the sicilians.. the americans.. there were plenty of people who would've wanted her family knocked out. they had to make sure to kill anyone who could claim the position, though. they had to be thorough.

their biggest mistake was their inability to track down acantha. they had not cut down the entire moon family. they had accidentally left their most stubborn, most hot-headed lone survivor. they were going to regret that.

nobody got away with murder. not in that business.

"i'll take a red eye back to london," she decided, turning her gaze towards the window. it was dark outside. she really didn't feel like going back to dreary london.

if she had known the reason why she was being called back, she would've ignored their call completely.
