Mexico at night isn’t quiet. It breathes — in shadows, in whispers, in the rattling hum of old neon signs. We weren’t here for tacos this time 🌮… we were here for a vault that even the locals call La Bestia.
Papito was all confidence — gold chain glinting, smirk sharp enough to cut glass. New York gave us the plan in ten words: “In fast, out faster, or don’t get out at all.” 💀
I slid into position, laptop on my knees, Wi-Fi piggybacking on a nearby hotel’s signal. The bank’s security system? Ugly, mean, and proud of it. But I’ve broken prettier monsters. Lines of code bled red on my screen, alarms whispered awake — I put them back to sleep.
Inside, Papito’s “conversation” with the guards got loud — the kind of loud that comes with hands on guns. New York’s voice hit my earpiece: “We’ve got sixty seconds before this turns into a funeral.”
Papito dumped the locks, I popped the vault, and for a moment the gold shimmered like a sunrise. Then came the sound of tires screeching outside — not ours. Local boys with rifles. Fast ones.
New York grabbed the bags, Papito shoved the guards into the break room, and I slammed my laptop shut. We hit the getaway car as bullets started chewing the plaster. The engine roared, the city lights blurred, and behind us, Mexico swallowed the noise like it never happened.
