Phoenix Rising, and the Space Between Us
Phoenix was born. My son. Alexis nearly didn’t make it—there was a moment where everything felt like it might collapse. But she held on. She always does. I held her hand and tried not to fall apart.
Then Moonbeam. She almost died. And then she left town.
She wrote me a letter. Said she didn’t want to be a burden. Said she needed space to breathe again. But I know her. I know part of it was because I could never just be hers. Not in the way she sometimes wished I could be. She didn’t leave me. She just left the weight of us—for now.
I never meant to hurt anyone. I just… I’m not built for monogamy. I love freely, deeply, and sometimes all at once. That truth doesn’t make it easier. It just makes it honest.
And now Bonnie and her baby girl Anne. They're becoming more important to me than I expected. Fast. She doesn’t ask me to shrink. She doesn’t flinch when I say I love others too. She just stays. And that means something.
