for the past year, Fury had been closer to Armin than he ever thought possible. he had known the boy for three years, watched him from a quiet distance, and carried a love he never dared to name. it was only last year that he finally stepped into Armin's orbit. he knew Armin's heart wasn't free; it belonged to someone else, someone Fury could never compete with, but there had been cracks, whispers of an ending. that was enough for Fury to hope, even if hope was something he had sworn never to believe in.

each day he reminded himself not to be selfish. he told himself that loving Armin meant letting him heal, not demanding anything in return. he was there through the long nights, through the heartbreak, through the quiet silences that said more than words ever could. he loved him selflessly, unconditionally, a kind of devotion that burned quietly, consuming only him.

but everything fell apart on Armin's birthday. Fury had spent days planning, rehearsing how he'd finally say the words. yet when the night came, Armin left with his ex.

Fury had always feared that day, but he never wanted to believe it would come. now it had, and all that was left was the echo of it. he didn't cry, didn't break down. he just existed in silence, with a heart shattered into pieces too small to gather back.

he kept wondering what life would be now. would he ever see Armin again? talk to him? would Armin ever want to talk to him again? he thought of him constantly even though he knew he shouldn't. love had tricked him; the one feeling he never believed in had turned him into something fragile. and Fury hated himself for it, for falling into a dream that was never meant to be his.
