thinking of you.
Yejun stepped onto the private island with a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. two days. just two days with Casie. after everything that had fractured them, after the distance and the hurt that had almost kept them from ever facing each other again. somehow, their love had survived it all.
the island felt unreal in its softness. warm air, quiet waves, sand that seemed to wash the noise out of his mind. being beside Casie again felt familiar yet delicate, like touching something precious he thought he'd lost for good. the years apart had left wounds in both of them, but here, those wounds finally felt like they could breathe.
still, guilt pressed against him from the inside. the unplanned things that had happened, things he wished he could erase followed him. he felt ashamed of himself for letting life corner him into moments he never wanted. but Casie didn't turn away. Casie didn't judge. he simply stood with him, helping him face what he'd been avoiding without making him feel small.
Casie made it easier to breathe, easier to stay upright. yet even in the comfort of reconnecting with him, another ache rested quietly in his chest; he missed Noir. deeply. missed the warmth, the steadiness, the presence of the man who waited for him back home.
Yejun believed these two days wouldn't rewrite the past, but they would refresh them. help them reset. help them return to their own worlds clearer, lighter, more themselves than they'd been in a long time.
as the sun dipped behind the trees and the waves softened against the shore, hope settled into him. he would leave this island stronger, ready to walk back to Noir to step into a dream life built on love, and stand beside Casie without the shadows that once threatened to break them.
