Am I grounded?

The quietness of my footsteps echoed loudly. My breathe barely heard above a whisper. My parents told me to keep calm and not let myself lose control. Sometimes when I close my eyes, I hear the ticking of a watch and a faint laughter. When I open my eyes, I see is darkness and red light. It does not scare me but welcomes me like a old friend. I was told that it would be part of my routine and that I would get use to it. Even as a child, I learned to accept what is there and what is not. My hands touch the surface of a wall with whispers of shadows lingering and calling me. I was not afraid but sometimes I wonder if I can decipher in the world between. The pull grows stronger and beckoning for me to answer the call. Was I ready to take on an important trial or will I fail? I have been honing my skills and preparing my self when the day will finally come. Even with my own family's guidance, I am still uncertain of myself and there is a thought of will I drown in my own failure or rise above all. But a soothing warm voice calls me back when I open my eyes once more and a smile cross my lips before I embrace the person who give me comfort.
