As I write these words, you are sleeping next to me. In contrast to the energetic nature you normally pack into your tiny body, you seem very calm and collected when you sleep. Every now and then your breathing quickens, perhaps because of the bad dreams you have had, perhaps because of the worries that once kept you from sleeping peacefully. I sit up in bed and don't move for fear of waking you, but don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Because even though I can't move, I have the most beautiful view in the world, right here with me.

Your eyebrows look like they've been carefully drawn. Your nose stands out for its beauty, but the rest of your face is also up to the challenge. The only sounds in the room are the sound of your breathing and the sound of the minute hand on the clock. Tick-tock-tick-tock. Every second that passes reminds me how lucky I am to have you. Your eyes are closed. I can't see your eyes, which I can't get enough of looking at. But your lips, on the other hand, are back in front of me in all their beauty and charm. Believe me, I can't hold myself back. I want to kiss you.

Your hair falls in front of your face, I can't bear it since it stops me from seeing your beauty, I gently push it aside. Involuntarily, my palm touches your cheek and I caress it gently. You pressed your face into my hand and unconsciously wrapped your arms around my hand. As if to say don't go to me. There are now three sounds in the room. Your breathing, the clock and my heart pounding.

I keep blinking my eyes open to make sure I'm not asleep. Because, my love, even when you're asleep, you're more beautiful than anything I've ever seen in my dreams. You slide down, moving closer to me. I gently wrap you in my arms and kiss your forehead. Sleep now, rest. Fearful nights are long gone, from now on, I'll be here to make sure you are safe and sound.
