Love
I've seen a lot of people over the years claiming that (insert whatever name) is the love of their life. My question is, how many "love of my life" can someone have in their lifetime? One? Two? Maybe three? Who knows. But I sure as hell know it's not a lot.
Shit happens. People die, or break up. So if someone claims that their new partner is the love of their life, does it mean that their previous relationship was just a lie? And if shit happens again, and they fall in love with someone new, claiming, once again, that their new partner is the love of their life, are they just a broken record at that point?
Love is complex. I do believe that the way you feel about different people will vary in intensity. And I do believe that it's possible to have that kind of love few times in our lives. I did.
But the problem is, when that statement is someone's favorite phrase to blurt out in every new relationship, it loses it's meaning. It doesn't make sense. You gotta start wondering how true it really is.
Cause the way I see it, if you end up with someone like that, you'll only be the love of their life at that moment.
