Etienne spent his entire childhood in the Paris suburbs. His father died in circumstances that are still a mystery to him. The accident happened when he was a very young child. So far, Etienne has never asked too many questions of his mother, a nurse, who has rebuilt her life with a cop. Etienne has always had a conflictual relationship with his stepfather, and more generally has trouble with authoritarian authority.

Etienne is a bon vivant, passionate about music, cinema and underground art. He loves partying, meeting new people and travelling. Alcohol is about to become a problem in his life, but he won't admit it, claiming that he can't party without drinking. He may then put himself at risk at the wheel or by jumping into a swimming pool and suffer medical reprimands.

After criss-crossing Europe in a van with his small amateur band, he settled in London to consider a professional career in music.
His application to EISIM, a renowned sound engineering school, was accepted.
